Barriers Direct

Barriers Direct are the largest supplier of barriers and bollards in the UK, with over 1.2 million orders shipped since 1997. The Barriers team originally came to Smartebusiness looking to move away from a difficult to maintain, custom built solution that was reaching end of life, and we recommended Magento 2 as a platform that could fully support the complex needs of the business whilst enabling continued ecommerce growth.

As part of the site migration, we completed a full site redesign (via sister agency Scale Beyond) to completely overhaul the previous site UX and UI experience. This was then implemented by our highly skilled Magento front end team using the modern and super-fast front end theme framework Hyva.

The back end functionality of the Barriers site involved a significant amount of custom development to handle a wide range of complex user scenarios, including custom access for multiple customer support teams and direct (tiered) access levels for product suppliers. We were successfully able to implement this functionality within Magento 2, without the need to implement a separate costly ERP system

We continue to provide ongoing development support and strategic growth support to Barriers Direct via our Magento retainer packages, and we are also delighted to be working with the Barriers team across many other group agency areas including Split Testing Management and ongoing Klaviyo Email Campaign Management.
